Discipulus Institute - Christology
Register today for the next Discipulus Institute course for Young Adults! This Discipulus course will explore "Christology" with Fr. Chris Seiler, Lecturer of Systematic Theology at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary and Associate Pastor at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish.
Classes will be held at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary from 7 to 8:30 PM for five Thursdays - October 13 through November 10.
"Who do you say that I am?"
This questioned posed to Simon Peter is THE question, one whose answer holds temporal and eternal weight. Who is Jesus of Nazareth? Is he simply a nice person? A great moral teacher? Or is he God incarnate? This course will look at the historical foundations of Christian belief in Jesus. Having examined belief in the divinity of Christ with the help of Sacred Scripture, we will take a tour through the first six centuries of Church history to develop an understanding of Jesus as fully God and fully man.
We will read large portions of Dr. Brant Pitre's "The Case for Jesus". We will also read the texts of the early Church Councils and related patristic texts.
October 13 - The Historical Jesus
October 20 - The Lord Jesus Christ
October 27 - The Consubstantial Son: Nicaea and Constantinople I
